Join us for Preschool & Kindergarten Round-Up at Henry School from 1:00–5:00 PM! 🎒✨ We can’t wait to meet our future students and families—come see what makes Henry such a great place to learn and grow!

3rd- 8th grade Henry students will begin State Testing on Monday, March 30th. Testing will take place each morning until lunchtime, so your support at home will make a huge difference in how our students perform. This test is incredibly important. It is the one assessment that the state uses to evaluate our school and issue our district's report card. The results will be sent to you by the beginning of June. It reflects the hard work your child and our staff have put in all year long! Please encourage your child to take their time, read carefully, and give their absolute BEST effort.

Getting a good night sleep, an adequate breakfast, being to school on time, and having a prep talk support at home can all help your child with doing their best! Snacks will be provided by the school. Students are also allowed to bring their own wired headphones if they choose. If not, the school will provide those as well.

Join us tonight at the school play!

Students will be selling leftover concessions—including popcorn, candy, water, and soda—starting at 6:45 PM.

During Round-Up, you’ll have the chance to:

Preschool was full of laughter and learning today! 🍀 The kids came in to quite the surprise—those sneaky leprechauns had made a mess of our classroom while searching for their pot of gold! 🌈✨ We had so much fun with Lucky Charms sorting, a shamrock letter race, pot of gold science experiments, and team-building as we built leprechaun traps. After lunch, the leprechauns fell right into those clever traps… and were officially caught! 🎉

Junior ACT exam is Tuesday March 24th & Wednesday March 25th.
This year the state of South Dakota is having all Juniors take the ACT exam instead of having them take state testing. So it is less testing for the Juniors but it is manditory. Every 11th grader has to take it and it is free. This will be held at the Henry School on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. The ACT has 5 different sub tests that will be scored. Due to the state mandating this, we can split the ACT up into 2 different days. Students will take the English, Math, and Reading exams the first day (Tuesday) and Science and Writing the second day (Wednesday). Juniors please report to Mrs. Hauck's room right away at 8:10 on Tuesday morning. It is very important for all students to attend. A student that is late, will not be able to test on that day.

-Computer
-Computer Charger
-Pencil

🎉 Congratulations to our 5th graders on their D.A.R.E. Graduation! 🎓

Over the past several weeks, students have been learning important lessons through the D.A.R.E. program about making safe and responsible choices, resisting peer pressure, and building confidence to stand up for what is right. These skills will help them both in and out of the classroom as they grow into strong leaders in our community.

A special thank you to Deputy Lowry for taking the time to teach, mentor, and encourage our students throughout this program. We truly appreciate your dedication to helping our students succeed! 👏

5th grade has been busy learning about different ecosystems! Each student chose an ecosystem and recreated it as part of their project. We love seeing their creativity and all the hard work they put into learning about the different environments around our world.

Get Ready for SLUSH WEEK – March 9–12, 2026! 🎉 We’re excited to announce our upcoming SLUSH WEEK, happening March 9–12! Get ready to show your school spirit and creativity by dressing up each day according to the theme. Check out what’s planned: 🗓 Monday, March 9 – Adam Sandler Day Break out your baggiest clothes! Channel your inner Adam Sandler with oversized shirts, basketball shorts, hoodies, and comfy sneakers. 🗓 Tuesday, March 10 – Hawaiian Day Dress like you’re headed to Hawaii! Think tropical shirts, leis, sunglasses, and beachy vibes. 🗓 Wednesday, March 11 – Country Club vs. Country Choose your side! Country Club: Dress like you’re heading to the golf course. Country: Go western with boots, flannel, denim, and cowboy hats. 🗓 Thursday, March 12 – Rhyme Without a Reason Team up with a friend and pick a rhyming pair that doesn’t necessarily make sense! Examples include: Kim K & U.S.A. Hannah Montana & Banana Make sure all outfits are school-appropriate and follow the dress code. We can’t wait to see your creativity and school spirit all week long. Let’s make SLUSH WEEK 2026 one to remember! ❄️

Dual Credit Night in Clark on Monday, March 23rd. This event will start at 6:30 pm and will be held in the Clark Jr/Sr High School gymnasium. All current 10th and 11th grade students including Henry students are invited along with their parents to help prepare them for the upcoming April 1st dual credit registration for the Fall 2026 semester. Mrs. Hauck will attend if any student or parent from Clark is attending. So please let her know. brigett.hauck@k12.sd.us

During this event, the dual credit coordinators will present a slideshow on all important information in which I will print as a hard copy for each student/parent to take notes. There will be time for individual questions with the dual credit coordinators after the presentation as they will each have their own table with informational material.

Just a reminder that inorder for a junior to take Dual Credits, they would need to have at least a 3.5 GPA. For a senior they would need a 3.25 GPA.
