Elementary students enjoyed Day 1 of Homecoming in comfort with Pajama Day!
Homecoming Day 1 is off to a great start in the middle and high school. Class color dress up day and class games.
Coronation is Monday, September 23rd starting at 7pm. We highly encourage kids to participate in the Eating Contest, and Tug-of-War, between 6th-12th grade. Not to mention parents are welcome to join in the Coronation Games.
Students in 7th grade Recovery getting a reward for being done with their homework. They decided to play school at school.
The second and third grade classes took a trip back in time at Prairie Village in Madison!
Taylor Watson was recognized at the Academic Excellence Banquet in Pierre for being in the top 1% of the 2024 senior class. Her parents, Troy and Nicky, as well as Principal Landon Hammer were honored to attend with her. Congratulations, Taylor. Henry is very proud of you!

Third grade's final community projects. They all worked together so well and put a lot of thought and planning into them.
The projects were on display in the library completed with extra props (farm equipment, cars, etc.) for other students and staff to see.
5th Grade has been making blankets this winter. They made some for Watertown Cares as well as Brothers and Sisters Behind Bars. Here is a card received by the Brothers and Sisters Behind Bars.
Third grade has been learning about the different types of communities in social studies. Now they have been busy creating dioramas to represent them. Stay tuned for the final products!
These young men led their classes for most growth on the district math and reading benchmark tests & were rewarded with a trip to Dairy Queen with Mr. Hammer and Mr. Obele.🍦We are proud of your effort and improvement, boys!
To spread some Christmas cheer, Henry's 4th grade class sponsored two children from the Watertown Salvation Army's Angel Tree and did some shopping today. 🎄♥️
The kindergarten class read the book Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of Macy's Parade by Melissa Sweet this week. They then created their own balloons and had a parade around the school.
Congratulations to the OI team for a 2nd place overall finish at regions.

The Henry School District would like to send out a huge thank you to the American Legion Post 17 for coming to our Veteran's Day program and sharing their experiences with our school and community. Thank you to all veterans for everything that you do for us and our country.
The 8th-grade class is reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, so they got to learn survival skills from Shawn and Casey with the Game, Fish, and Parks department. They learned how to start a fire without matches and how to find drinking water in the wilderness.
The Henry National Honor Society partnered with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering with new construction on a home.
Reminder that picture retakes are on October 25 at 8:00 am. Students going to NTHS must get pictures taken before bus leaves.
